| Services output between March and April rose by 0.8%. All five components of the service sector increased in output. The most significant increase was in transport and communication. This increase needs to be set in the context of the low headline growth; month on month growth can be volatile. |

UK GDP Growth Revised Down to 0.3% in Q1 Jun 27, 10:21 AM EDT |

| Sales volume in the three months March to May rose by 1.8% compared with the previous three months. |

| Total sales volume rose by 3.5% between April and May, the largest growth in the series. Sales volume in predominantly food stores increased by 3.3%, the largest rise in the series. Sales volume for predominantly non-food stores rose by 3.9%, the largest increase since March 1991, this was mainly driven by textile, clothing and footwear stores. |

| Imported goods prices had risen by 8.1% in the first quarter on a year earlier. Manufacturing input prices had risen 23.1% in the twelve months to April. CIPS/NTC survey balances for input prices in manufacturing remained high, though they had fallen modestly in May, and the balance for services had risen further. |
