UK Retail Sales Rise 1.1% in December 2006

The volume of sales in predominantly food stores in the latest three months increased by 0.1% over the previous three months.
Sales at constant 2000 prices was 1.4% higher than the previous three months. Between November and December the volume of sales rose 1.1%. The increase was driven mainly by household goods stores, supermarkets and non-store retailing.

UK Output PPI Advances in December

The output price index excluding food, beverages, tobacco and petroleum rose 2.3% in the year to December.
The output price index for home sales of manufactured products rose 2.2% in the year to December, compared with a rise of 1.8% in the year to November. Unadjusted, the index rose 0.2% between November and December, mainly reflecting rises in petroleum and food product prices.

UK Consumer Price Index Rises 3% in December

The all items RPI excluding mortgage interest payments index rose by 3.8%, up from 3.4% in November.
In the year to December, the consumer prices index rose by 3%, up from 2.7% in November. In the year to December, the all items retail prices index rose by 4.4%, up from 3.9% in November.

UK Output PPI Advances in December

Seasonally adjusted, the input price index rose 0.1% between November and December.
The output price index for home sales of manufactured products rose 2.2% in the year to December, compared with a rise of 1.8% in the year to November. Unadjusted, the index rose 0.2% between November and December, mainly reflecting rises in petroleum and food product prices. If passed on in full, the changes in excise duty on fuel announced in the Pre-Budget Report would have increased the index by about 0.1% in December.
